III · Bhutan · The Himalayan Way
The Himalaya. Be fully present.
Twelve centuries of training the mind, from the masters of Dzogchen. A mind that stays clear and calm, whatever happens.

རིག་པ · rigpa · pure awareness
Dzogchen teaches a calm awareness that no storm can touch. Loukia teaches it practically, not religiously.
- Presence that holds as the world speeds up.
- A calm, focused mind in an age of noise.
- Thoughts and emotions that pass without taking over.
You walk it in the Adyton’s third year.
The sites
- Paro: the valley of monasteries and the fortress of Rinpung Dzong.
- Taktsang: the Tiger’s Nest, where Padmasambhava is said to have meditated.
- Punakha: monastery to monastery, as the lineage walked it.
The full moon, and a measure
In Bhutan we follow the full moon, as the Himalayan tradition does. Bhutan has measured its happiness for 50 years: 9 areas of life, 33 indicators. The Alethia Index does the same for you: a baseline, then a new reading every quarter.
